Malawi Floods: Heavy rains destroy property, hundreds destitute

Storm

The rainy season is back.

Reports reaching Malawi24 indicate that flash floods have washed away people’s property at Tengani Trading Centre in the area of Traditional Authority Tengani in Nsanje district and have left businessmen at the trading centre helpless.

The floods followed heavy rains that poured for about 3 hours in the area on Saturday afternoon.

This comes as rains have just started falling in some parts of the country.

Earlier this year, Malawi was affected by floods that left scores of people homeless and others dead.
