Kangunje into final Flames squad as Chipuwa returns

Malawi football national team mentor Enerst Mtawali has named a final 19 man squad for Cecafa tournament scheduled to take place from 21 November to 6 December in Ethiopia.

Mighty Wanderers shot-stopper Richard Chipuwa is back in the squad, replacing Fisd Wizards’ Brighton Munthali. Mtawali has handed Civo Service United in-form midfielder Nelson Kangunje his first international call up.

Big Bullets has contributed six players with Nomads coming second with 3 players.

Full squad traveling to Cecafa:

Goalkeepers: Richard Chipuwa and Simplex Nthara

Defenders: Yamikani Fodya, Sankhani Mkandawire, Miracle Gabeya, Pilirani Zonda, John Lanjesi, Stainley Sanudi

Midfielders: John Banda, Isaac Kaliyati, Yamikani Chester, Chimango Kayira, Gerald Phiri Jnr, Levison Maganizo, Nelson Kangunje, Dalitso Sailesi.

Strikers: Chiukepo Msowoya, Chawanangwa Kaonga, Shumaker Kuwali

Technical Panel:

Head coach: Enerst Mtawali Assistant coach: Nsazuwrimo Ramadhan

Team Manager: Clemment Kafwafwa

Goalkeepers’ trainer: Swadick Sanudi

Team Doctor: Levison Mwale

Malawi is in group C alongside Sudan, South Sudan and Djibout.

The team leaves the country for Addis Ababa this week.
