Speaking to Malawi24 on Wednesday at Chiwembe technical centre in Blantyre, Kangunje says he feel greatly honoured to be included in the 27 member squad together with his teammate Dan Msimuko.

“I will work extra hard to prove to my national team coach that everything is possible with his knowledge in us,” said Kangunje.

Kangunje, who scored the only goal in this year’s Standard Bank finals, said he will put an extra gear and promised more surprises for the Flames.

He is among three new faces in the Flames squad that has also seen debut call-ups for Civo’s Msimuko and Fisd Wizards and Flames under-20 player Isaac Mwale.

Kangunje has also been nicknamed “Silencer” due to his silent and painful goals that yields wins for his team.

Flames players are in camp ahead of the game against Sudan on 27 November in this year’s Cecafa senior Challenge cup.
