Poet Robert Chiwamba launches second album on Sunday

As a way of keeping the poetry industry alive, a renowned local poet, Robert Chiwamba is set to launch his second poetry album this weekend at Chichiri Multipurpose Gardens in Blantyre.

According to Chiwamba, his new album entitled Kwa Mayi Chiwamba is a dedication to his mother as he is expressing appreciation for her care and love.

Chiwamba promises his fans an enjoyable and massive performance during the launch saying the event will be supported by key entertainers from different arts.

“People should expect more from this launch because am well prepared and there will be a lot of supporting artists ranging from poetry, dancing, music and dramas,” promises Chiwamba.

Among other supporting artists, there will be Gides Chalamanda, Edgar and Davis, Mtendere Dancing Troupe, Chichiri Dancing Troupe and other notable poets and comedians like Mada Nyambo, Raphael Sitima and Sylvester Kalizang’oma.

The Kwa Mayi Chiwamba album carries 33 poem tracks including Takumana Pano Ndi Pamsika, Mbuzi, Pampanda and Malemuwa Apita Ndi Ndalama Zanga.

Chiwamba became popular following the release of his first album, Chanco Mu Nthawi Yanga which comprised 31 tracks including Muzafa Imfa Yowawa and Moyo Si Wophweka.
