Malawi Police in Phalombe district have arrested two men believed to have stolen solar panels at Gogo Nazombe health center in the district.
Police spokesperson, Rhoda Manjolo, confirmed about the arrest of Edward Buleya and Edson Khonjera. Manjolo said the two were arrested after one John Suleman, who was sighted by community members, revealed that they stole the panels.
“After investigations, John Suleman was also identified by members of the community policing as they saw him carrying solar panels in sacks,” said Manjolo.
Seleman revealed the issue after proper questioning by the police that they stole the solar panels from Gogo Nazombe health center.
Khonjera hails from Nkhughani village, T/A Nthwalo in Mzimba district while Buleya hails from Mdoda village. The two will appear in court to answer charges of theft.
