Do a fair trade

Pro 20:14 ISV* “This is bad, bad,” says whoever is buying— but then he brags as he walks away after the sale.”

What an amazing scripture! Talks about a buyer pretending that the seller’s goods are bad. Yet immediately after purchase he brags in his heart that he has had a fair deal. In BBE translation it reads Pro 20:14 BBE* “A poor thing, a poor thing, says he who is giving money for goods: but when he has gone on his way, then he makes clear his pride in what he has got.”

Some buyers would overbargain in the market and would do it wrongly. They would pretend as if the goods are bad, in poor state and not worthy buying. However after buying them, they are happy and they take pride and brag that they have bought quality products at a every low price and this is what the Word is against.

Pastor Daniel Walusa:

The Bible says we are Kings( 1 Peter 2:9;Rev1:6) and therefore we need to behave as such. We need not exploit the poor. If the product is good let us not pretend. As a King avoid picking a single wrong product out of many and behaving as if the whole lot of product is bad in order to exploit the seller and obtain the product at very low price. Dont ever try to rob the poor through such means thinking you are saving some money for yourself. You will lose a lot.Pro 22:16 ISV “Whoever oppresses the poor to enrich himself and whoever gives gifts to the wealthy will yield only loss.”

Learn to respect and treat fairly the poor especially when buying something from them. Stop exploiting the poor man. Pro 22:22 ISV* “Don’t rob the poor person because he is poor…”

Confess with me: I am a child of God and I do a fair trade. I will never exploit a poor man. When bargaining, I will never pretend as if the product is bad when I know that it is good. I always behave as a King. In Jesus Name. Amen.
