There is no clear frontrunner in this season’s race for Malawi’s Super League golden boot award as two players are tied on goals with 8 games to go.

Silver Strikers forward Green Harawa and Red Lions’ Innocent Bokosi have both found the back of the net 12 times this season.

Harawa scored his 12th goal last Sunday when Silver Strikers were playing against their town rivals Civo United in a game that ended 2-1.

However, Bokosi failed to put the ball into the back of the net when his side Red Lions were playing their brothers in arms, Moyale Barracks last Saturday.

The two are followed in top scorers chart by Civo’s goal scoring machine Nelson Kangunje who has netted 11 goals while Chiukepo Msowoya is fourth with 10 league goals.

Another Big Bullets striker Jaffalie Chande is tied up on eight league goals with Blue Eagles’ hitman Schumacher Kuwali.

Also chasing the golden boot award this season are Kuda Muyaba (Moyale), John Malidadi Jnr (Blue Eagles), Kumbukani Mwambeni (Red Lions) and Bright Munthali (Azam Tigers) who have all scored 7 goals apiece.

This seasons golden boot winner will pocket K100, 000.

Last season’s top goal scorer was Moyale Barracks striker Deus Nkutu.
