Devotion: Word is a light

Psalm 119:105 ” Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”

Every Christian must be aware that the world and its systems are full of darkness.Isa 60:2 “For, look, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness covers the nations, but the Lord shines on you; his splendor appears over you.”

Progress is difficult in darkness. You can’t work effectively in darkness; In addition you can’t drive, walk or run with speed in darkness. This shows that progress may be there but not as effective and as fast as in the light.

God brought us His Word to be our light in this dark world. His Word is to be a lamp to our feet and light to our path so that we can Walk and Work effectively and with speed in whatever we do. If you want progress, meditate on the Word. Speak the Word and you will have good success and you will prosper in all endeavors. Don’t neglect to use the Word in everything you do. Its your light.

Joshua 1:8. “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.”

Psalm 1:2-3  ” But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”

Even if you are a student, the light of the Word will make you very intelligent.Psalm 119:99 ” I have more understanding than all my teachers: for your testimonies are my meditation.”

1 Timothy 4:15. “Meditate on these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting(progress) may appear to all.”

Pray with me: Dear father, I thank you for your Word that is a light on my path so that I should make quick progress in whatever I do. I walk in the light and my progress is guaranteed. In Jesus name. Amen.
