Despite trailing Malawi super league leaders with 12 points and lying on position 9 on the standings, Mighty Wanderers are still optimistic of beating rivals Big Bullets to the title.

Speaking in the aftermath of their 1-nil victory over Blue Eagles in the semi-finals of the 2015 Standard Bank Knockout Cup on Saturday at Civo Stadium, Team Manager Steve Madeira said his side is remaining with 11 games and anything can happen.

“Don’t rule us out yet because we are remaining with 11 games and football is a game of possibilities. Anything can happen, we are still in the race.”

“We will try our level best to win the remaining games but ruling us out at this point of time will be too suicidal,” he said.

The Nomads’s next assignment is on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium against Azam Tigers, a side which is yet to find a victory in the second round of the top flight.

The Nomads are also win less in their three opening second round league matches.

On Sunday, the title race took another twist when league leaders, Bullets FC, tested a defeat for the first time this season, succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to the bottom side Airborne Rangers at Chitowe Stadium.

Despite the defeat, the current league defending champions are still topping the standings with 41 points, 7 ahead of the second placed MAFCO FC with two games to play.
