Two Malawian artists Danny Kalima and Blade Deep have been nominated for this year’s Africa Music Awards (Afrima) to be held in Lagos, Nigeria in November.

Danny Kalima, popularly known by his stage name “Sirius” has been nominated for his song titled ‘the dusty city’ in the Best Afro-Rnb-soul category.

Kalima: nominated.

To win, he needs Malawians to massively vote for him.

Blade Deep whose real name is Narada Gilbert, is a Malawian artist based in the Carribean tiny nation of Barbados. He is one of Africa’s disc wizards as he has earned international recognition.

His magic has earned him an Afrima nomination in the Best Electronic Music category for a song he features South Africa’s Delura and the beautiful voice of Liezel.

Blade Deep owns a record label called Jus Vibe which he uses as a tool for promoting African house music in the Carribean.

He was once nominated in the top 200 afro house DJs by Traxsource, a leading house music site. The Malawian looks forward to clinching the award.

Should either or both of them emerge victorious, they will have consoled the country after afro-pop artist Lawi failed to win in last year’s Afrima awards.
