Malawi Carlsberg Cup champs Mighty Wanderers head coach Elijah Kananji maintains he is not moved with the team’s supporters who want him to be fired after the Nomads lost to Kamuzu Barracks 1 nil at Kamuzu stadium.
Kananji confirmed that he was let down by the Nomads supporters who were chanting that the coach should go and he also said that he understands how the supporters felt after those back to back defeats to Civo and Kamuzu Barracks.
“We have lost two consecutive games and the fans were just expressing their disappointment out of frustration, but I would like them to calm down as we try to get back to winning ways,” said Kananji.
Kananji added that losing is part of the game and he understands why the supporters were chanting that he should be sacked.
“It is part of the game. I heard those chants, as a coach you expect such situations to happen, especially when you are in charge of a big team like Wanderers,” he said.
The Nomads players and technical were forced to track back to their club house by foot after the supporters were frustrated by the nomads poor run of form which has forced them to loss to Civo stadium and Kamuzu Barracks both by 1 nil at Kamuzu Stadium, a week before last week and last week respectively.
The Nomads next game will be against Red Lions at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday 26th September, 2015.
