IPPM gets K2 million from Airtel Money

Airtel Money has given K2 million to Institute of People Management – Malawi (IPMM) towards IPMM’s  Lakeshore Conference which will be held in Mangochi.

Airtel Money Head of Marketing Virginia Jere presented the K2 million cheque to IPPM vice president Mary Mkali in Lilongwe on Tuesday.

In her remarks, Jere said the conference is an opportunity for Airtel Money to engage with others, share experiences and learn best on keeping employees highly engaged.

“Airtel Money believes that people are the most valuable asset for any organisation. We cannot engage a customer before engaging our employees. This is why Airtel Money is sponsoring IPMM to stay ahead of the curve and provide the best for its employees,” said Jere.

On her part, Mkali said they are grateful to Airtel Money for the sponsorship which will assist the IPMM as its members come together  from 10 to 12 November, 2022.

She added that it is important for human resource practitioners to equip themselves with skills that will enable them to assist their organizations manage the human resources.

“In a changing environment where practices are changing everyday, HR practitioners also need to top up their game so that they are not left behind,” said Mkali.

The conference will take place at Nkopola Lodge under the theme ‘Embracing professionalism, ethical behaviour and integrity in Human Resource Management in the Changing World’.

It will attract human resource practitioners, senior executives and senior public officers. Keynote speakers will include Minister of Labour Vera Kamtukule and Pepe Minambo who is a Human Resource expert from Kenya.
