Police in Lilongwe have arrested a UTM supporter for insulting four police officers.
The man who is a taxi driver but refused to give police his particulars has been arrested today.
According to police, the man was in UTM regalia when he insulted sub-inspectors Misinjo and Chiuye who were on foot patrol around Kawale.
“The suspect saw them and started insulting them that they have received vacuum ranks and that they won’t be paid at all. He told them that they are stupid,” police said.
Other police officers – Sergeant Mathanga and Sergeant Mussa – were also insulted and attacked by the suspect on different occasions after using the same way.
Meanwhile, the suspect is in police custody pending trial.
