Standard Bank Knockout Cup venues named

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced venues for this year’s Standard Bank Knockout Cup semi-finals.

Big Bullets, Blue Eagles, Civo Service United and Mighty Wanderers made it through to the K46 million prestigious cup semi-finals in the just ended weekend.

Bullets will play Civo United at Kamuzu Stadium on mothers day holiday with Mighty Wanderers hosting Blue Eagles at Civo Stadium on 17th October.

However, the Fa did not disclose where the final will be played.

To reach this far, Bullets edged past Moyale Barracks by a goal to nothing, with Mighty Wanderers recording victory with the same margin over Red Lions.

Blue Eagles also recorded a 1-nil victory over defending champions Silver Striker whilst Civo United beat Dedza Young Soccer Saints 2-nil.

Wanderers are not visitors in this competition having won it twice in a row. Their rivals Bullets have never won this cup but only managed to reach the finals in 2008 but eventually lost to Moyale on post match penalties.

-Big Bullets vs Civo United at Kamuzu Stadium

Saturday, 17th October 2015

-Mighty Wanderers vs Blue Eagles at Civo Stadium
