Big Bullets forward Chiukepo Msowoya is expected to be sidelined for a month with a hamstring problem, the Malawi Fa has confirmed.
Msowoya, who was in Flames camp in readiness for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification clash away to Tanzania next month, was released by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) after undergoing a scan at Beit Cure International on Wednesday morning.
The Fa confirmed the development on their official Facebook page some few hours ago.
“Striker Chiukepo Msowoya has left camp after being ruled out of action for a minimum period of four weeks to enable him recover from a hamstring injury he suffered while on club duty for Big Bullets in a Super League match on Sunday. We wish hum a speedy recovery,” said the association on their Facebook page.
The latest injury is a blow to Malawi super league holder who were told on Monday that their first choice goalkeeper Owen Chaima will be sidelined for up to six weeks after sustaining a shoulder injury in the same league match.
Msowoya is likely to miss Bullets’s Standard Bank Knockout Cup action against Moyale Barracks on Sunday at Civo Stadium and a Blantyre derby next month.
He is also likely to miss Flames trip to Tanzania on 4 October as well as the return leg on 11 October.
